Kozlov Vasily N.
Born in 1884 in Nizhny Novgorod province. In 1926 he graduated from the Chemical-Metallurgical Faculty UPI, with the specialty engineer pyrogenetic wood processing. In 1930 he moved to the newly organized Ural Forestry Institute, where he worked as head of the Department of Wood-Chemical industry (since 1934), then head of the department of chemical technology of wood (from 1959) until the last days of his life. In 1935 he received the rank of Professor in 1944 defended his doctoral dissertation. He has published over 200 scientific papers, received 14 invention certificates, written books "Pyrolysis of wood" and "Technology pyrogenetic wood processing" (with AA Nimvitskim), translated into Bulgarian and Chinese. Under the government complied with Scientific and Technical work for Ceylon and Indonesia.
During the Great Patriotic War, actively participated in the commission under the chairmanship of Academician Bardin to mobilize the resources of the Urals, Siberia and Kazakhstan for the defense. For this work in 1944 was awarded the USSR State Prize winner 1 st degree. The responsibility for implementing state targets for the production of defense products, a great contribution to the theory and technology of resin production and the advances in training awarded the Order of Lenin, two Orders of Red Banner of Labor and many medals. In 1965 awarded the title of Honored Worker of Science and Technology of the RSFSR for outstanding achievements in the development of wood chemistry.
